and Expertise

In the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries, Latin American composers developed a new sound that combined Western and native traditional musical characteristics. Yet, El Salvador has been historically omitted from this discussion due to its late initiation of symphonic tradition.

As a Salvadoran-American, I am driven to connect my Salvadoran cultural background and musical training to demonstrate the full, often overlooked history of Salvadoran cello concert music.

Thanks to my dear friend, Dr. German Cáceres (former conductor of the National Symphony of El Salvador), I have been able to record his cello compositions, along with those of other notable Salvadoran composers. This includes becoming the first cellist to record and perform these works!
